Sharon Osbourne opens up about her suicide attempt in 2017: 'I just couldn't bear it'

Sharon Osbourne is opening up about her personal struggles.

During an episode of The Talk, Osbourne, 67, discussed how she attempted suicide four years ago because she simply "couldn't bear it."

"Four years ago, I tried to take my life and it wasn't for attention. I just couldn't bear it," she said, adding she'd "been medicated for 28 years."

"I went to a place to give me help," Osbourne said where she met two other young patients whose mother's had both committed suicide.

"They told me they were drinking and using drugs… both of them, their mothers had committed suicide," she continued. "And it messed them up so bad, that they couldn't cope with their lives and that shocked me into… am I going to do this to my family, my babies, no way. And that shocked me — it was like an electric shock and it was like, get it together.

"It was like look at these two girls. If I try this again, this could be my kids."

Osbourne discussed how she started taking anti-depressants after avoiding any social contact.

"I took some of her pills and after a couple of weeks I felt better," she recalled. "Then she said this is the doctor go to this doctor and tell him how you feel. That was the big breakthrough for me."
