Selena Gomez apologises to Bella Hadid after Instagram drama explodes

Selena Gomez has issued a public apology to frenemy Bella Hadid after an awkward Instagram exchange landed the pair in the headlines two years after their epic fallout.

ICYMI, the drama between the former BFFs kicked off on Sunday, November 17, when Hadid uploaded a photo from her recent Dior campaign to Instagram, on which Gomez commented, "Stunning."

Shortly after, though, Hadid deleted the post, leading to speculation it was because of Gomez's comment.

"That sucks," Gomez wrote about the vanished post on a fan account that reported the news.

Now, the 'Lose You To Love Me' singer has backtracked, claiming the situation was nothing more than confusion on her part.

"I shouldn't of spoken without knowing the truth. I'm sorry," Gomez wrote on a news story about the fall-out.

While Hadid is yet to acknowledge the drama publicly, it's clear Gomez is desperate to maintain her recently repaired friendship with the model.

"Please don't be hurtful," Gomez continued in the comment. "[Bella] is a wonderful person, and it was all a misunderstanding."

Hadid and Gomez's rivalry started back in 2017 when the singer started dating her friend's ex-boyfriend, rapper The Weeknd, leading to a rift and the former friends subsequently unfollowing each other on Instagram.

Gomez and The Weeknd split after a very public 10-month relationship, with the rapper running back to Hadid for a year before their romance hit the skids once more.

Two years on from Gomez and Hadid's initial falling out, the pair seemed to have finally restored their friendship, refollowing each other on social media in early November.
