Seinfeld cast reunion confirmed by Jerry Seinfeld!

We hope you're sitting down, Seinfeld fans: the cast reunion we've been waiting for is finally happening.

Jerry Seinfeld has confirmed that there's a "secret project" that was recently filmed involving multiple Seinfeld characters, nearly 16 years since we first farewelled Jerry Elaine, George and Kramer from our TV screens.

The 59-year-old comedian spilled the details on US radio show WFAN Boomer and Carton — watch above!

The news comes after Jerry teased a "mystery project" to fans on Reddit earlier this month. Reunion rumours heated up when Jerry and co-star Jason Alexander were spotted outside Tom's Restaurant.

Now, Jerry has revealed that Jason will return as George Costanza and that Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David is also involved. But he's keeping mum on the other characters coming back.

The reunion is not for a commercial or an episode of Jerry's web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, but will be a "shortish form" and "one-and-done" episode available "very, very soon".

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Update: Fans have pointed out that the Seinfeld cast reunited for Curb Your Enthusiasm's "anti-reunion" episode in 2009.
