Ryan Phelan's TV career reportedly in doubt over his relationship with Samantha X

Ryan Phelan and former escort Samantha X (real name: Amanda Goff) may have gone public with their relationship, but a new report claims it could have major ramifications for Phelan's career at Channel 7.

The 42-year-old television personality confirmed he was dating the divorced mother-of-two by sharing a pic of the couple to Instagram on Monday.

A few hours earlier, 43-year-old Goff -- who announced she was retiring from the sex-work industry on October 24 -- shared a similar image of the pair, writing, "It's all out now."

But it seems not everybody is thrilled about Phelan's new squeeze.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the new relationship has sparked concern at Channel 7's Martin Place headquarters, where Phelan works as a panellist on The Daily Edition.

A spokesman for the television network declined to comment on Phelan's private life to the Daily Telegraph, though the publication claims top Channel 7 execs are less than pleased about the relationship.

Phelan's dating past includes two failed marriages and a cancelled engagement.

The television presenter was married to his childhood sweetheart at 18, and they went on to have two children together, before divorcing after eight years of marriage.

Phelan split from his second wife earlier this year and was previously engaged to Boxing Day tsunami widow Trisha Broadbridge.

Goff became Australia's most high-profile escort when she walked away from a magazine career to join the sex-work industry where she reportedly earned $6,000 a night. She shares two children with her banker ex-husband, David Basha.
