Ruby Rose to play new inmate in <I>Orange is the New Black</I>

Ruby Rose is off to prison… well, kind of.

In her biggest break yet, the 28-year-old DJ will be joining the cast of edgy US series Orange is the New Black as its latest inmate.

The former TV host posted the exciting news on social media yesterday, after being named one of the faces to watch in television for 2015 by Elle US.

Ruby will play Stella, an inmate "whose sarcastic sense of humour and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of Litchfield's inmates".

Want to know what's making our brains explode even more? She'll play a love interest for the show's two leads – inmates Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon).

We had an inkling something was up when the Aussie star posted the above snap of herself in a jumpsuit on Instagram seven months ago… without a caption, of course.

Ruby's spent the last couple of years in Los Angeles, where she currently lives with her fiancée Phoebe Dahl.
