Ruby Rose reveals horror film injury that stole four years of her life

Australian actress Ruby Rose has opened up about the horror injury that cost her four years of her life on the reality TV series, Special Forces.
The accident happened seven years ago, when Rose landed the starring role on the CW’s Batwoman series. It left her with two slipped discs that nearly severed her spinal cord.

Rose is currently one of 15 celebrities competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, a military training reality show designed to test what the stars are made of.
On the premiere episode, Rose opened up about her injury, explaining that she’s entered the show with some hesitation due to her past experience.
Rose starred as the title character in the CW’s Batwoman series for one season, eventually departing due to an injury she suffered on set in 2019.
Rose underwent emergency surgery to fix the damage before she was left paralysed and thankfully made a good recovery.
Competing on Special Forces, Rose failed to complete a challenge where she was required to fall out of a helicopter backward and land in a body of water, instead choosing to go feet first and having to explain her injury as the reason why.
“Kicking butt was one of the joys in my life – but it also ended up being the end,” she said.
“I’ve always done all of my own stunts, so I could turn up as Ruby the actress. But I had an accident in 2019 on the set of Batwoman everything just sort of got bad from there.”
She revealed that she was almost left paralysed and has now broken her neck twice leaving her with two replacement disks.
“There was no bouncing back; there was no part of me left. I was just a shell. Four years of my life gone,” she said.

“Eventually it’s like, I’m not really that action star, am I? I’m just Ruby.”
While Rose made a full physical recovery, she’s explained that the mental and emotional impact of the injury still stay with her.
She took some time off acting following her injury, but has since returned to screens in projects such as SAS: Red Notice and Dirty Angels.
