Ruby Rose is a latex-clad 'entertainment' robot in Dark Matter teaser

Aussie star Ruby Rose has swapped her Orange is the New Black prison gear for latex and guns in sci-fi TV series Dark Matter.

Ruby, 29, plays Wendy, an "entertainment" android tasked with a "sinister" mission in episode seven of the Syfy series.

According to the show's blog, her character "delights the crew with her cooking, sexual prowess and charming Australian accent."

Based on the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name, Dark Matter follows a spaceship crew who wake up with no memory of who they are and how they got on board the ship.
