Ruby Rose's Batwoman in 'demand' from US audiences

US audiences are apparently very excited about Ruby Rose's superhero debut as Batwoman next week.

In a report published by Variety, the DC Comics series for US network The CW is the one viewers are demanding and most aware of heading into the fall television season.

"For Batwoman, its demand is more than three times the market average title in the US already," Parrot marketing vice president Samuel Stadler told the publication.

"This says to us that this is a very strong contender, a release that should go very well…

"There are so many drama titles out there, if you have a hook against existing IP or audiences are already aware of the universe you're about to explore, it's much more likely that series will resonate."

A prominent television host, DJ and model in Australia, it was after moving to Hollywood that Rose broke through with a film career.

The 33-year-old starred in back-to-back blockbusters like John Wick 2, XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Pitch Perfect 3 and The Meg.

Batwoman marks her return to television following a star-making turn on the critically acclaimed series Orange Is The New Black.

Donning the cowl already in CW tie-in superhero shows Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow, Rose plays Kate Kane who is the cousin of Batman Bruce Wayne.

She's also one of television's first openly gay superheroes, with a feverish fandom following the character from the DC comic book origins.

The Aussie star has been sharing her extensive workout routines and stunt training for the part on social media with her 14.2 million followers on Instagram.

Alongside Melissa Benoist's Supergirl, Rose is part of the more female-fronted run of CW superhero shows now that Arrow is in its final season.

The network recently announced they'll also be launching a spin-off Arrow series, which focuses on a girl gang of vigilantes known as The Canaries.

Rose's forthcoming debut comes after her ex, Jess Origliasso, has been wrapped up in legal trouble after she and her sister Lisa were escorted off a Qantas flight.

The singing twins known as The Veronicas posted extensively about the incident on social media and have said they're considering legal action against the airline.
