Roxy Jacenko claims she hid $500 cash on her husband Oliver Curtis before he was taken to prison.

The 38-year-old told Nova FM'S Fitzy & Wippa that she wanted to ensure he was comfortable when he arrived.

"You've got to do what you've got to do," she told the radio hosts, recalling the day 32-year-old Curtis began his sentence in 2016.

"A friend of mine did tell me actually that having some money in prison when you first get there is very beneficial," said Jacenko. "So I may have put a couple of $100 [notes], well stitched them, into the lining of his jacket."

She said that the exact figure was $500, and that it was for "buy-ups" in prison.

"It's for a doona, it's for food. For him, he likes to read the newspaper," she explained.

Curtis spent a year at Cooma Correctional Centre before his release in June 2018. The former investment banker was convicted of conspiracy to commit insider trading.

In an interview which aired over the weekend, Jacenko told the Sunday Night program that she "went rogue" after Curtis went away.

"I think I started living a life very quickly as soon as Ollie went to jail that was fast," the Sweaty Betty owner said. "And that was drinking too much and consuming things that I shouldn't have been consuming... I went rogue, basically.

"I would go out, and I'd come home at all hours of the morning. I basically lost my marbles."

Jacenko and Curtis married in 2012, and share two children: Pixie, 6, and Hunter, 4.
