All My Children actor Ray MacDonnell dies at 93
Ray MacDonnell, who was best known for playing Dr Joe Martin in All My Children, has died. He was 93.
The soap actor passed away on June 10 from natural causes at his home in Chappaqua, New York, according to Michael Fairman TV.
In 1970, MacDonnell was cast as patriarch Dr Joe Martin on All My Children. He worked on the series for 40 years. After departing, he made several appearances on the popular soap and returned for the 2011 finale.

When he retired, Susan Lucci was the only remaining member of the original cast.
His other notable acting credits were in The Edge of Night (1961-1969), and the TV pilot Dick Tracy (1967).

In 2004, the Daytime Emmy Awards acknowledged his work with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
MacDonnell is survived by his wife Patricia MacDonnell and children Sarah, Kyle and Daniel.
