Pete Davidson has opened up about his struggles with mental illness, and the stigma associated with it, especially when it comes to dating.

The Saturday Night Live star, who's recently been linked with Ariana Grande, revealed last year that he has Borderline Personality Disorder, but insists that it doesn't impact his love life.

Posting to his Instagram story on Friday, the 24-year-old responded to recent claims from unknown sources that those with a mental illness shouldn't be in a relationship.

"I just wanna let you know that’s not true. Just because someone has a mental illness does not mean they can’t be happy and in a relationship," he wrote in a lengthy post.

Grande recently took to Twitter to share details of her "toxic" relationship with rapper Mac Miller, and many fans reached out to caution her about dating another "troubled" man.

Seemingly in response, Davidson continued: "It also doesn't mean that person makes the relationship toxic. Everybody is different and there are a lot of treatments for mental illnesses and I have done/am doing all of them … I just think it’s f---ed up to stigmatize people as crazy and say that they are unable to do stuff that anyone can do."
