Pete Davidson confirms engagement to Ariana Grande during chat with Jimmy Fallon

Pete Davidson has spoken out about his engagement to Ariana Grande for the first time.

The Saturday Night Live star confirmed rumours that he and the 24-year-old singer were engaged, even thanking talk-show host Jimmy Fallon for congratulating him.

"Now you know that you didn't have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show?" Fallon teased during Davidson's appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday.

"But I did, though!" 24-year-old Davidson replied. "I feel like I won a contest."

When asked what life was like now he was engaged to one of the biggest superstars in the game, Davidson said he suddenly found himself a hero to people on the streets.

"It's f---ing lit, Jimmy," he revealed. "It's so lit. It's so funny walking down the street 'cause, like, dudes are walking by and they're like [tips hat]," the SNL star revealed. "You ever see that Derek Jeter commercial when he was, like, retiring [from baseball] and everybody just tips his hat? Some dude came up to me and he was like, 'Yo man, you, like, gave me hope.'"

On Sunday, Davidson's friend and comedian, Sherrod Small, also celebrated with the "almost newlyweds" by having a few drinks in New York.

"Pete good move," Small wrote alongside a pic of the get-together, which also featured their mutual friend, John Mayer. "She's smart, funny and adorable. Congrats."

Not only are the couple set to tie the knot, but it seems they're ready to move in together too -- the pair have found an apartment in New York, according to TMZ.

"Us in our new apartment with no furniture 1 speaker and red vines," Grande captioned a Spongebob Instagram Story on the day they were spied house-hunting in New York City.
