Owen Wilson look-alike pretends to be Owen Wilson at swanky Florida party

A man who looks vaguely like Owen Wilson managed to trick an entire party into thinking he was, in fact, the Wedding Crashers star.

Aptly crashing a fancy fundraiser in Florida's Palm Beach on Saturday night, author Daniel Hartwell reportedly pretended to be the 49-year-old actor, posing for pictures and talking in character to guests, including family members of Ralph Lauren and George Bush.

Page Six report that the blonde look-alike was invited by another guest as an early April Fool's Day joke.

Sharon Bush, the mother of model Lauren Bush Lauren posted a photo with the "star" but later took it down, apparently upon realising he was an impostor. 

According to local website People of Del Rey, the author's resemblance to the actor is a well-known joke among locals, but clearly the fancy party-goers weren't in on it.

Also known as "Danimal, Dan The Man and sometimes Owen Wilson", the website lists Hartwell as a "Positive Living Specialist" who is originally from Boston. His favourite spot is the gym, and his life motto is "happy and high on healthy living."

A quick Google search reveals that Hartwell recently self-published a Beatles fan-fiction novel titled Saint John Lennon, which has a cult following on Amazon and has even attracted the attention of Ringo Starr.
