Oscars 2017: Hilarious reactions to La La Land, Moonlight Best Picture gaffe

After what was arguably the most awkward moment in Oscars history, Twitter has unsurprisingly erupted into hysterics (and a whole lot of Steve Harvey memes).

Moonlight took Best Picture... but not before Warren Beatty accidentally gave the top prize to La La Land.

And ever since, Twitter has been a flurry of jokes at Steve Harvey's expense. (You may remember it was he who announced the wrong winner of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.)

Well he's probably feeling pretty good about himself now, with this spectacular end to an otherwise seamless Oscars night.

One tweet suggested getting fictional police detective Dick Tracy to figure out what went wrong... a dig at Warren, who played the popular comic character.

Film director M Night Shyamalan, known for his wacky plot twists in most of his films, joined in on the fun.

Wikipedia made some lightning fast changes to its La La Land page...

And some even got political, with this cheeky response to the 2016 presidential election
