North West painted Kim Kardashian a Hermes purse for her birthday

Most mum's would freak out if their baby scribbled on their handbag but Kim Kardashian West just thinks it's "cool".

For the reality TV star's 34th birthday, the 16-month old bub hand-painted her mum a Hermes purse.

"Kanye had a box [with a Hermes purse in it]," Kim told Us Weekly. "And I opened it up and it was all painted really cool.

"And on my computer was this message that said 'Play' and it was a video of my daughter sitting outside painting the purse."

"I had thought it was this new artist who had painted this purse [but] it was my daughter. It was amazing."

But Kim isn't the only one in the fam with a growing designer bag collection.

TheFIX exclusively reported back in August that daddy Kanye West will also give North a brand spanking new Birkin bag each year until his daughter's 18th birthday.

The catch? She won't actually be able to touch her high-fash purses. Which is probably because of her newfound penchant for scribbling on them…

"Kanye and Kim plan to buy North a Hermes bag every year until she's 18," our insider revealed. "And then present her with the priceless collection then.

"They view it as an investment, and her first bag is in coveted pink."

"Kim has more than $500,000 in various Hermes handbags and her collection continues to grow, just as Nori's will.

"Kim recently took out an insurance policy on her bags that will replace them for their full value. She has them all photographed and numbered.

"The bags are just as valuable as jewellery, and she wants to be sure they are protected. Kanye bought her a one-of-a-kind bag last year that is like carrying around an expensive work of art."

Well, that's one way to spend your millions.
