Outlander star Sam Heughan spotted kissing Australian model Monika Clarke

Outlander actor Sam Heughan was spotted with a mystery woman while out in New York City yesterday.

Photos emerged of the pair kissing while on a lunch date at Cafe Select in Soho. They were later snapped wrapping their arms around each other as they walked through the city.

Heughan, best known for playing Jamie Fraser on the historical drama, is normally tight-lipped about his romantic interests, but he's previously been linked to MacKenzie Mauzy, Cody Kennedy, Abbie Salt and most recently Amy Shiels.

So who is the 41-year-old actor's new flame? Heughan's date is none other than Australian model Monika Clarke. Here are five things to know about her.

She grew up in Victoria and she loves an Aussie beach

Clarke grew up in Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia.

"Every summer I try to go back to Swan Hill to see my family," she told SurfStitch in 2016, before telling them about her favourite spots to swim. "To be honest, there haven't been any better beaches than the ones in Australia. You travel throughout our country and we just have so many beautiful beaches. Rainbow Beach is a standout."

She's a model in New York City

Clarke, 30, is represented by Wilhelmina Models, a modelling and talent agency based in New York City, where she lives. They also rep Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato, Machine Gun Kelly, Shawn Mendes, Billie Eilish, and Nick Jonas. According to Clarke's CV, she's 5 feet 9 inches.

She loves a funny guy who isn't on social media

In October 2020, Clarke shared in an Instagram Story the kind of traits she looks for in a partner.

"Humour is a big thing for me. And someone who appreciates sarcasm," she said.
"Also: a man who is humble and can always have an interesting conversation. Confidence without arrogance. A man who makes his woman feel appreciated and respected."

She also told DMARGE that she loves a man who isn't on social media.

"It shows that social media is not of importance to his personal life and leaves him being a lot more present in time," Monika told DMARGE.

"Social media is part of my job, and some men are attracted to a girl purely based on her following, which I find shallow," Monika continued. "I love the idea he would know nothing about me unless he personally gets to know me. Lastly: one of my biggest turn-offs is a guy posting a mirror selfie in a bath towel. So I wouldn't have to worry about him having done that."

Heughan is on social media, by the way. His Instagram handle is @samheughan. As mentioned, Clarke also regularly uses Instagram to showcase her work. Her account handle is @monika.clarke and she has over 200,000 followers.

She was in a long-term relationship until recently

The model was in a relationship with boyfriend Jared Lyons for over two years. They had a dog together, and still follow each other on Instagram. She's also believed to have dated Ed Lower and Charles Davis.
