Mariah Carey denies claims she's called off James Packer wedding: 'Everybody puts so much pressure'
Mariah Carey has put her stiletto-clad foot down: She won't tolerate those tabloid rumours that she and James Packer have called off their upcoming wedding.
In the interview above with E! News, the 46-year-old hit back at recent reports that suggested all wasn't so peachy between the singer and her Aussie billionaire beau.
"We're getting it together, darling," Mariah said, with just a touch of exasperation. "You know what? It takes time. The dress and the whole thing.
"And I'm working and he's working and you know, everybody puts so much pressure." Quoting Frozen's hit song, Mariah added that people should just "let it go". Noted!
And just to prove how ready she is for wedded bliss, the 'Fantasy' singer says she's already bought her dress…and it's "in a box, darling".
It might stay there for a while, though, if this business with her estranged husband Nick Cannon doesn't go away.
TMZ recently claimed that the 35-year-old was intentionally holding up their divorce proceedings and delaying her marriage to James, 48.
"I think that the main thing is that Nick knows that I need him to make this work," Mariah said. Hear that, Nick?
Last week, America's Got Talent host Nick told Extra: "There's nothing to tell. Me and Mariah get along great, and it's a process. Nobody is holding nothing up. Why would I hold it up? I want her to be happy."
The pair first split in August 2014, with Nick filing for divorce that December. They share custody of their five-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
