Louis Theroux admits he takes power naps in toilet cubicles at work: 'If I can get away with it'

Louis Theroux has opened up about his secret tendency to sneak into bathroom stalls and take power naps at work.

The documentary filmmaker, 50, revealed he feels strongly that workplaces should have sleeping booths for over-worked employees.

"As I have got older I found that a little nap in the day, if I can get away with it, always helps," he said on The Joe Wicks Podcast of how he stays productive.

"The BBC used to have these toilets where if you didn't move then after three minutes the lights would go off, which was perfect.

"I kind of lean my head forward on my chin or even a hand on my chin and within a minute I would be out."

Theroux said the light would eventually wake him after his cheeky siestas.

"And then after about 10 minutes I would wake up — usually with some drool on my chin," he joked. "In my utopian society at work you would have a sleep booth."

The documentary filmmaker holds a strong belief that sleeping for extended periods is "counterproductive".

Theroux is married to film producer and director Nancy Strang. The couple shares children Frederick Theroux, Albert Theroux and Walter Theroux.
