Lori Loughlin determined to 'prove that she is not guilty' of college admissions scandal following Felicity Huffman's sentencing

Full House star Lori Loughlin is apparently keen to avoid jail following the college admissions scandal.

The actress, 54, has grown increasingly worried that she could spend time behind bars after fellow defendant Felicity Huffman was handed down a 14-day sentence last week.

"Lori is aware of Felicity's sentence, and is processing what that means for her," a source told People.

"Her only move now is to take this to court and to prove that she is not guilty of what she's charged with."

Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer J. Mossimo Giannulli, are both facing serious charges for their alleged roles in faking test scores, sporting talent, and SAT records in order for their children to gain access to their chosen tertiary institution.

The famous pair are among 50 people who were brought down in the college admissions scandal, which has become a lightning rod for discussions about class and privilege in America.

However, many expect Loughlin and Giannulli to receive harsher sentences than Huffman — ones that will most likely result in jail time — due to the severity of their cases.

The couple are alleged to have paid US$500,000 (approx. $727,000) in bribes to see their daughters — YouTuber Olivia Jade and Isabella — admitted to the University Of Southern California, whereas Huffman paid US$15,000 (approx. $21,800).

Complicating matters further is Hufman's guilty plea, which was said to have earned her leniency in sentencing.

However, Loughlin and Giannulli have both pleaded not guilty and refused a plea deal from prosecutors when it was offered.

Posts from Olivia Jade on social media have reportedly not helped the situation, including one where she is giving the fingers to the camera.
