Logies 2019: Grant Denyer 'not a fan' of one Gold Logie nominee's 'angry' and 'aggressive' campaign
Grant Denyer may be relaxed on this year's annual Logie Awards red carpet but he's fired up about one nominee who he says has run a particularly "aggressive" campaign.
Hard Quiz host Tom Gleeson has run a comedic smear campaign against his fellow nominees for the 61st Gold Logie Award, after he successfully rallied behind Denyer for last year's top prize.

"Tom Gleeson has run a rather aggressive campaign, an angry campaign this year, he's taken shots at everyone, including my Gold Logie win last year," Denyer told AAP. "I'm not a massive fan. It is our only institution, it’s the only game in town for TV and while it's not that important to everyone it's important to me. It was the most magical experience of my professional life winning it last year."

Gleeson is a favourite to win this year just ahead of Ten Network's Amanda Keller.
The two front runners are followed by ABC gardening guru Costa Georgiadis, Neighbours favourite Eve Morey, Nine Network's Doctor Doctor star Rodger Corser, Sam Mac from Sunrise and Waleed Aly from The Project.

After nearly a seven-month hiatus Karl Stefanovic was back in action at the awards, saying his hosting gig on Nine Network's This Time Next Year had helped him put his life in perspective.
"I really needed the time off and I am ready and raring to go," Stefanovic told AAP. "And it's certainly nice to sleep in, especially after tonight."
