Listen: <i>My Kitchen Rules</i>' Captain hangs up on Fitzy and Wippa during radio interview
My Kitchen Rules' latest villain David "The Captain" Kirk ended a radio interview suddenly this morning on the phone to Nova FM breakfast hosts Ryan "Fitzy" Fitzgerald and Michael "Wippa" Wipfli. Listen above to hear what made him drop out!
The 53-year-old, who is engaged to 20-years-younger "trophy wife" Corinne Wieland, called the hosts back to explain his awkward hang-up.
The Cairns couple have been in the headlines over the past day as another man, named David Wood, revealed to Woman's Day that he is still married to Corinne.
"I don't know what she sees in him," the other David told the mag. "He was our neighbour, a friend ... we had dinner parties together."
Well this is a bit awkward. Corinne told Sunrise this morning that she is "still married", but as The Captain pointed out, they both have "estranged partners". In fact, The Captain and Corinne are engaged to one another… once Corinne's divorce is finalised. It's a tangled web indeed…
The Captain even defended Corinne's estranged husband: "I don't actually think he said those things, David's not like that."
All the drama off-screen came just in time for the pair's crash-and-burn on last night's show. Watch below as they make MKR history with the lowest score ever, a measly 27 out of 110. Too many cooks in this kitchen? Perhaps.
