Lindsay Lohan to become a judge on Australia's version of The Masked Singer

Lindsay Lohan has taken her career in a new direction with the announcement that she will judge a popular reality TV show in Australia.

The actress, 33, has confirmed that she will feature as a judge on the Australian version of The Masked Singer.

Lohan will appear alongside other celebrity judges, Jackie 'O' Henderson, Dave Hughes, Dannii Minogue, while Osher Gunsberg will play host.  

"Look out Australia, I'm coming," Lohan told Confidential.

"The Masked Singer is such a fun concept that really gets everyone hooked and wanting more. I am definitely going to see if I can try a few of the costumes on also. I am very excited about the trip and being on the panel to judge the show," Lohan says.

The Masked Singer debuted in South Korea, where it was known as the King of Mask Singer.

It was picked up by the US in January, with Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel.

The series follows 12 celebrities who face off against one another while wearing an elaborate costume that conceals their identity. The judges are unaware of who is performing and attempt to guess who the singer is solely from their voice and a series of clues that are thrown in.

At the end of the episode, the studio audience votes for their favourite masked singer. The singer who receives the least number of votes is announced at the end of the episode, with one masked singer revealed every episode.

Gunsberg told The Herald Sun that the Masked Singer will be a guaranteed hit.

"The Masked Singer Australia is such an out-there show, such a wild format, and I can't wait for people so see it."

Lohan most recently starred in her own reality TV series, Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club, which was set in Mykonos, Greece. The show was cancelled after it failed to draw big ratings for MTV.

The club, where the show was based, was subsequently shut down.

Here's hoping that Lohan's new role in the talent show will be a winner for her.
