Kylie Jenner's makeup brand sued for discriminating against blind customers

Kylie Cosmetics may soon be changing its practices.

Owned by Kylie Jenner, the makeup brand has been hit with a lawsuit after being accused of discriminating against blind customers.

A woman named Antoinette Suchenko, who said she has been legally blind for 20 years, brought the suit forward, TMZ reported. She said she uses a screen reader program to navigate the internet and claimed the Kylie Cosmetics website wasn't compatible. Therefore, she's unable to purchase beauty items from Jenner's popular collection.

Rather than seeking a financial agreement, Suchenko has asked that Kyle Cosmetics comply with federal law as protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Jenner herself was not named in the suit.

This isn't the first time the Kardashian-Jenner family's businesses were accused of discrimination. In 2016, DASH, the store owned by Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, sued for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act due to its website's incompatibility with screen reader programs for the blind. Again, the plaintiff asked that the company raise its standards to meet the needs of the vision impaired.
