Kristen Stewart gives rare insight into relationship with ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson
The notoriously private Kristen Stewart has given a rare insight into her relationship with ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
The 29-year-old actress was envied all over the world when she dated the Twilight heartthrob on-and-off for four years, with the pair splitting up for good in 2013. But apart from their obvious chemistry on the popular vampire franchise, the pair kept their relationship behind closed doors.
"When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by," Stewart — who will star in the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot — said in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar UK. "So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, 'No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it's ours.'"

In fact, the only time Stewart was forced to speak out about their relationship was in 2012 when she was busted cheating on Pattinson with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, 48.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Stewart wrote in a statement at the time. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

The couple stayed together despite the cheating scandal but split just one year later.
Just as private is Pattinson, who has remained tight-lipped about his relationship with Stewart. He did, however, recently reveal to The Times UK why he refuses to talk about any of his relationships.
"If you let people in, it devalues what love is," Pattinson, 33, told the outlet in April. "If a stranger on the street asked you about your relationship, you'd think it extremely rude. If you put up a wall it ends up better."
