The Skims ad that went viral for showing Kim Kardashian's "retouched" waist has been confirmed not to be an editing fail.

According to Page Six, the ad which showed Kardashian's finger distort as it dragged over her waist "was the result of a glitch in the upload process."

"The Skims commercial that aired last week featuring the Fits Everybody collection did initially have an error as a result of the video losing its quality during the uploading process," a spokesperson for the shapewear brand told the outlet on Monday. "Immediately after it was noticed by the team, the video was pulled, and the glitch-free version was uploaded and ran for the remainder of the time on air.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused Kim and our customers."

The viral video featured Kardashian, 40, stretching the waistband of her seamless underwear before running her hand up her waist, but her finger appears to "distort" in the process.

A source also told Page Six that Kardashian, the Skims founder, requested her waist not be edited for the ad and that no part of her body was digitally retouched.

The Kardashian Jenner clan have had their fair share of photoshop fails in the past. More recently, Kim posted a photo with her family while on holiday at Lake Tahoe — featuring Cory Gamble, Kris, Kendall, Khloé, Kourtney, and Kim — but fans noticed Kourtney's head looked as if it was photoshopped from a completely different photo.
