Katy Perry meets Pesto the giant baby penguin ahead of the AFL Grand Final: 'He's just a little baby'

Pop superstar Katy Perry is preparing to perform live at the AFL Grand Final on Saturday.

And ahead of the performance, and in between rehearsals, the Teenage Dream singer, 39, had the chance to meet the adorable baby penguin making headlines, named Pesto.

Perry, who is promoting her new album 143, paid a visit to the Sea Life Melbourne aquarium in Australia to meet Pesto, who reportedly weighs around 22.5kg and is one of the biggest baby penguins ever seen.

The hitmaker shared a fun video from the meeting on her Instagram on Friday to her more than 205 million followers.

"Visited Pesto last night. He told me who will win in the @afl grand final tomorrow but my lips are sealed 🤐," Perry captioned the clip.

Perry was gifted a pair of penguin socks, and bubble sticks as she heard that Pesto "loves bubbles".

She even serenaded him, sweetly singing: "He's just a little baby."

"Can you wish me luck for Saturday? It's a pretty big day," she added, in reference to the AFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions.

Perry will hit the stage at the stadium to perform in front of thousand; with 100,000 people expected at the stadium.

It comes after Perry revealed she's set to tour Australia next year as part of her global Lifetimes Tour.

Her first show is in Sydney on June 9, and she will play dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

"143 is a party and you're all invited! Stoked to see you in June 2025. Get ready for a high energy singalong to all your faves," Perry wrote in her announcement post.
