Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld make rare appearance with teenage kids

Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica have made a rare appearance with two of their three children: daughter Sascha, 18, and son Shepherd, 13.

On Wednesday night, the foursome attended the annual gala hosted by Jessica's charity, the GOOD+Foundation in New York City's Central Park.

Absent was the couple's middle child, son Julian, 16.

Jessica, 47, is CEO on the foundation, while Jerry serves as chair of GOOD+Foundation's Fatherhood Leadership Council — an initiative to help bring attention and support to struggling fathers.

Jerry opened up about fatherhood at the event, explaining that he chooses not to be an intimidating dad to his daughter's boyfriend, Jack.

"I really was determined not to be those dads," Jerry told reporters, according to People. "I hated those dads when I was a kid dating and you would go to a girl's house and the father would be so mean and I don't want to be that guy. You feel those feelings. You feel possessive and protective but I refuse to be one of those disapproving dads."

He added that he and Jessica were pleased their daughter would be attending prom with Jack.

"We've known the young man," the The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee star said. "It's a relationship so it's nice."

Jessica described the young man as "amazing, he's the best."

Shortly after the event, Jessica shared photos on Instagram of Sascha and Jack before their prom night.

"Prom night for the Couple of the Year, Sascha and Jack," she captioned the photos, which showed Sascha is a gorgeous royal blue gown as she stood alongside her other half.

In another photo — which Jessica shared as an Instagram story — Sascha stood alongside her mum and dad, who wore a pair of funky specs for the occasion.
