'This is how it's going to be…': How Melissa McCarthy's daughters forced her to cast them in The Boss

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone's daughters both make cameos in their upcoming comedy flick The Boss, but it took a lot of convincing…from the kids.

But ultimately, as the husband-and-wife duo explained to TheFIX, they didn't really have a choice in the matter.

"Vivian just really wanted to be in it," Ben explains in the clip above. "She kept asking and asking - and we needed a seven-year-old who looked like Melissa - which Vivian very much does."

Melissa, 45, and Ben, 42, were at first hesitant to consider her proposal, until she dropped the "Can't I at least try?" card - no doubt with puppy-dog eyes thrown in.

"I thought, 'Oh, you're good'," Melissa says. "It's smart, and it was true, so I thought 'I can't say no to that.'"

The Bridesmaids star then tried to lecture Vivian on the realities of being a child star to make sure she knew what she was in for, but that didn't deter her.

"You know, it doesn't matter if you're tired of doing it or if you want to go and draw," Melissa told her daughter. "You have to stand on your mark and do the line. This is why it's called a job and maybe you don't want to do it.

"But she was always like, 'I do, I do'. So we practiced around the house and she really seemed to get it…She did a great job and I was really proud"

Their youngest daughter Georgette, now six, wasn't about to let her older sister take all the glory.

"She said, 'If she's in it, I'm in it'," Ben recalls. "'This is how it's going to be'. We were like, 'Okay, got it'."

But it wasn't all kid chit chat in our interview. Keep watching to find out how the pair give each other work feedback after a decade-long marriage and why Melissa is fondling co-star Kristen Bell's boobs in the trailer for The Boss, hitting cinemas on April 14.
