Grant Denyer reveals he was booted from 'Sunrise' for doing 'X-rated' cross at pole dancing studio
Grant Denyer has opened up about a time he was deemed too risqué for his breakfast TV time slot.
As part of his 2DayFM's Em, Grant & Ed show, the former Sunrise weatherman said he was "kicked off" the morning show after delivering his weather report from a pole dancing studio.
Intending to "focus on fitness" and watch "good, let's call them athletes, just hard at it showing amazing angles, and body tone and strength," he recalled how his segment was sadly misinterpreted, and subsequently cut, by anchors Mel Doyle and David Koch.
"The hosts of the show I was working at didn't really like the subject of the material… and they cut the feed, said 'you're not coming back', he recalled.
"I got a phone call saying, 'Mate, that last cross was a little too X-rated'...It felt like it was full disciplinary action."

Talk about a brutal dismissal. Denyer lamented the fact that he didn't even get a chance to jump on a pole himself.
"That would have been hilarious," laughed the radio host.
Unfortunately, he was immediately sent home, with the hosts left to read the weather themselves from their very G-rated television studio.
It may not have involved a pole, but Denyer did get the chance to showcase some adorably daggy dancing in the above video, taking out the top prize in the fourth season of Dancing With the Stars.
