Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3: Best tweets, GIFs, and WTF reactions

The creators of Game of Thrones are accustomed to killing off beloved characters -- you're still not over Hodor, admit it -- but that doesn't make it any less bitter when we have to say goodbye.

Monday's episode, "The Queen's Justice", saw the demise of Olenna Tyrell, Queen of Thorns (played by Diana Rigg). Her one-liners were #iconic. Her headdresses, next level. She will be missed. But of course, she went out with a bang.



Arriving at Highgarden's tower, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), her onetime ally, sealed her fate by giving her a poison that would kill her "painlessly". She took it down, but not before delivering a Kingdom-shattering revelation that it was she who had Joffrey poisoned … you remember, the same day he wed her granddaughter Margaery? Olenna said she wanted Jamie to tell Cersei (Lena Headey) this news. Olenna added defiantly: "I want her to know it was me."

Oh. My. Thrones!

The internet stayed pure in celebrating of the Queen of Thorns' legacy as being the real MVP.

Missandei makes the introduction, rattling off Daenerys' exhaustive list of titles. Davos, maybe sensing the irony here, responds simply: "This is Jon Snow." Davos paused momentarily. "He's King in the North."

Even as some fans have been dying for the two royals to hook up, completely disregarding that she is technically his aunt, it's hard not to wonder where the relationship will go. As Vulture pointed out, "the flinty way the two leaders’ styles rubbed up against each other, particularly the way Emilia Clarke’s regal stiffness brings out something twitchy and interesting in Kit Harington."

For now, Jon Snow is mining for glass in Dragonstone to send back north, so here's to seeing what kind of "partnership" he and Daenerys form in the coming weeks.
