Amy Schumer fires back at bikini critics: 'Doesn't everyone wear the same 2 bathing suits for 4 years'

Every Hollywood style watcher knows that a star must never be photographed wearing the same thing twice.

Amy Schumer either didn't get that memo or she just doesn't care – we're betting on the latter.

The 35-year-old has responded to critics of her itsy bitsy teenie weenie bikini collection. She's been photographed in Hawaii with Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn, sometimes wearing the same black and white two-piece.

The horror, right? Well, don't laugh, because she's been taking some non-beach-related heat for it.

But there's a good explanation for Amy's apparent beach style. Make that two explanations – and Amy shared both on Instagram along with a pic of herself wearing the offending bikini.

"They're not my pals. They're my family," she wrote, referring to Kate and Goldie. "Not vacationing. We are shooting a movie with Goldie Hawn in Hawaii. Yay!!!!!!!!!

"Also it's funny they point out repeat wearing s [sic] bathing suit. Doesn't everyone wear the same 2 bathing suits for like 4 years and then get a new one? #yes."

Oh, so that explains it. Amy's hard at work in paradise – and she dresses like a normal person, regularly recycling outfits.

By the way, the movie Amy referred to is the upcoming action comedy Mother/Daughter, co-written by the comedian, in which she and Goldie play the title characters.

We can't wait to see Goldie, Amy and that black and white bikini on the big screen.
