Jennifer Lopez ditches glamour and gets trigger happy in new TV series Shades of Blue
Tough, unorthodox New York City cop breaks the law in order to uphold it. We know, we know. Been there, seen that.
The upcoming police drama Shades of Blue does have one new twist that almost guarantees it'll be must-see TV for at least one week: Jennifer Lopez as the tough, unorthodox New York City cop.
Still not sold? Check out the extended trailer above and see a de-glammed JLo get New York City gritty and trigger happy.
Shades marks Jennifer's first regular appearance in a TV series since she broke out as a "Fly Girl" dancer on the early '90s sketch-comedy show In Living Colour. Since then, it's been up and down…currently down.
The 46-year-old star hasn't had an acting hit since 2005's Monster-in-Law, so she could use some decent ratings. And if Shades doesn't make it, well, at least she's still got her Las Vegas gig, which kicks off in January.
Maybe she can plug her new TV series onstage. Shades of Blue debuts on US TV on January 7.
