Bindi Irwin recalls her rocky DWTS beginning: 'Derek was the first person to say you're really quite bad'

Bindi Irwin's Dancing With The Stars US win last week surprised no one. After all, the 17-year-old spent all of the season as the sentimental favourite and frontrunner.

But as it turns out, her road to the top was rocky indeed. Not even her partner, Derek Hough, thought she had a chance.

"Derek was the first person to say you're really quite bad," Bindi told Hit 104.1 2DAY FM’s Rove McManus and Sam Frost.
