He likes long walks on the beach, stroking his knee in limousines and gazing broodingly into the distance. Oh hey there, Bachelor Sam!

Network Ten has released its first look at The Bachelor season three, featuring Tasmanian-born personal trainer Sam Wood embarking upon "Australia's next big love story".

Hopefully this time there won't be a botched engagement – but let's hold the cynicism for now and immerse ourselves in Sam's loved-up universe.

Watch above to see the 34-year-old kick off his lothario antics with a few very keen ladies (including one who takes a polaroid selfie. Because YOLO!).

The Bachelor air date is yet to be announced. It will be followed later in the year by The Bachelorette, featuring Bachelor season two's jilted bachelorette Sam Frost.
