EXCLUSIVE: Brynne Edelsten 'shocked' over ex Geoffrey's proposal

Geoffrey Edelsten's former wife Brynne has told close pals she's "shocked" by his very public proposal to new lady, Gabi Grecko.

Yesterday, the world gawped at news Geoffrey, 72, knelt on one knee in the Birdcage at Melbourne Cup and whipped out a diamond engagement ring for Gabi.

Also, TheFIX's keen eye has spotted that Geoffrey even recycled a suit he wore in 2010 to the same event with his ex Brynne. Awks.

"Brynne's found out about the engagement and she's completely shocked," says the source. "She's worried this might mean she has to change her surname, which is something she really doesn't want to do.

"She's hoping Gabi doesn't change hers to Edelsten but thinks she might."

We're surprised she actually thinks the pair will make it down the aisle. Since kicking off their romance earlier this year, they've split more times than we've seen a nudie Gabi on Instagram.

However, speaking to TheFIX yesterday, Gabi revealed plans to get married in Paris and how she's going to make her own dress. Check it out below.

Brynne, who has since found love with body builder Cemre Volkan, split from Geoffrey in January after allegedly finding text messages to other women on his phone.

It sparked a war of words between the former couple, especially when busty 24-year-old Gabi landed on the scene, dubbing Brynne a "gold digger".
