Derryn Hinch reveals injury with single Christmas photo: 'Looked like I lost ten rounds with Lionel Rose'
Derryn Hinch's holidays didn't quite go to plan this year.
The former Senator for Victoria, 80, shared a photo of him and his partner Lynda Stoner taken over Christmas, revealing a noticeable facial injury.
"I didn't post this pic earlier because I did not want to pass on bad news at Christmas," he captioned the picture of him and Stoner smiling together on Facebook.

In the photo, beneath his pair of clear glasses, the star had not one but two black eyes he sustained after taking a fall.
"I had a pre-Xmas fall, smacked my nose and, as a consequence, blacked both my eyes".
Hinch joked: "Looked like I lost ten rounds with Lionel Rose".
"So, this was my Christmas Day pic with Lynda," he signed off.
The comments section was flooded with hundreds of messages wishing the star a speedy recovery.

"Looks very sore," one person wrote, to which Hinch responded: "No. Just looks bad".
Replying to several of the comments, the TV star confirmed he had been to a fall clinic and was doing balancing exercises after one person suggested them to avoid falls.
When asked if he keeps his walking stick on him, Hinch said: "Alwys [sic] have the stick. Even inside sometimes."
Hinch said he was "recovering well" after one person asked if he was really doing OK.
The radio host celebrated Christmas with his partner in Sydney this year.
He shared another photo of Stoner with her son Luke while they all spending time together in Sydney's CBD.

Hinch was previously engaged to Stoner in the '80s. They rekindled their romance in 2016.
The injury comes as the star battles two other health conditions, which he revealed earlier this year.
Earlier this month, Hinch was hospitalised in Melbourne for a heart procedure.
On December 7, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "In hospital this week for electric shock to my heart to regulate heart rhythm. Guess you can now call me a shock jock".
In an interview with the Herald Sun, Hinch said he was diagnosed with an irregular heart rhythm, known as atrial fibrillation.

Six months ago, the New Zealand-born journalist revealed he was undergoing radiation for a skin cancer diagnosis.
In a Facebook post on June 21, Hinch said he was "feeling positive" completing his first week of radiation at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
In a follow-up message weeks later, the longtime journalist said he had finished 20 sessions of daily radiation with "miniscule" side effects.
July 2024 also marked 13 years since Hinch had his liver transplant in 2011.
The star was diagnosed with liver cancer in the late 2000s.
