Dad unknowingly sits next to Nick Jonas on a flight, promptly goes viral

A dad who had no idea he was sitting next to Nick Jonas on a plane has gone viral after his daughter tweeted their hilarious text exchange.

On Monday, Florida teenager Deanna Hall's dad texted her a puzzling question, asking "Who is Nick Jonas?"

"A famous singer," Deanna answered. "I love him. He was part of the Jonas Brothers."

When her dad told her he was sitting next to the 24-year-old musician, she quickly sent back a flurry of excited messages.

"SEND PIC," she wrote. "TAKE A PIC WITH HIM. TELL HIM I LOVE HIM. GET AN AUTOGRAPH".

Her dad then sent an adorable photo of himself looking somewhat baffled as he leaned in next to the famous heartthrob.

"When your Dad sits next to Nick Jonas on an airplane and has no idea who is is," Deanna tweeted along with the text exchange and the selfie.

A Twitter user who claimed to be a flight attendant on the same plane responded, verifying the event.

"Yeah your dad was so confused," she replied to Deanna. "I was working the flight and people were so shocked that Nick was actually on it!"

The tweet has since gone viral, with over 180,000 favourites, 49,000 retweets, and 400 comments as of September 1.

"Omgg i envy him," someone replied on Twitter.  "And its soo cute how he didn't know who he was!!"
