Cyndi Lauper announces Australian Farewell Tour with The Veronicas

It's official - music icon Cyndi Lauper is heading back to Australia next year and is bringing her Farewell tour Down Under.

The Girls Just Want to Have Fun singer, 71, announced the news of the six-city tour with fans in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

"Hey #Australia I'm headed your way in 2025 with @theveronicas," Lauper wrote in her post, much to the thrill of fans.

"Tickets will be on sale Wednesday 23 October @2pm AEST. See you there!"

"Oh hell yes. I've never missed u in Australia and I'm definitely not missing this. I love you Cyndi," one fan commented underneath.

"I knew it! I knew you wouldn't leave us out! But damn I was getting worried," another added.

The Veronicas shared in an Instagram post: "When the queen calls - you answer!"

"We are joining the iconic Cyndi Lauper on her Australian Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour in April 2025."

Lauper will start her tour in Melbourne on April 2, before heading to Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

Tickets go on sale on October 23.

Last year, Lauper toured Australia with Rod Stewart.

Just eight months ago, Lauper announced she had sold off the majority of the rights to her music to Swedish company Pophouse.

"Pophouse has impressed me with their commitment to maintaining and developing my professional life's work and ensuring its legacy," the singer said in a statement via the Pophouse website.

"Their creativity and vision, combined with my continued involvement via our unique joint venture is what is most exciting to me," she added.
