Chrissy Teigen has responded to Twitter users after realising her recent post about horse riding had been misconstrued.

Over the weekend, the model informed followers she was going to take up horse riding at the recommendation of her therapist. The new activity was intended to help her cope with the recent loss of her baby Jack.

The 35-year-old wrote to fans, "a lot of u really misinterpreted this tweet and I guess that's on me. I didn't say I have nothing, I said I have nothing I do for just me. A convo with a therapist. A hobby. Cause I lost a baby. And I'm figuring myself out. And I didn't buy a horse. But oh my god, what if I did?"

However, her recent post didn't sit well with fans who accused Teigen of boasting about her wealth amid a global pandemic.

"People are dying, ma'am. Read the room," one user replied.

One Twitter user responded, "A lot of people are unemployed and struggling to feed their family in the midst of a pandemic. Maybe now isn't a great time to say you 'have nothing' so you bought a horse to entertain yourself."

On Sunday, Teigen shared an image of a horse as she decided to take up the new hobby.

"My therapist says I need something that I do for just me, as I have absolutely nothing currently lol. Today begins my journey into the horse world. I hope this dude likes me he's so handsome and appears lazy, I love," Teigen wrote.

In November, she took a social media break in order to get through a "grief depression hole". She has spoken openly about seeking professional help as she copes with her pregnancy loss.

"When I'm old and grey, I will look back on the last two months as being brutal, exhausting, sad, physically challenging, mentally painful b----es of a couple months," Teigen wrote two months after losing her son.
