Chris Brown attempts to clear his name by posting texts and voicemail allegedly from woman accusing him of rape

Chris Brown has made public some texts and a voicemail allegedly sent from a woman who accused him of sexual assault and sued him for US$20 million (approx. $27 million). 

In an attempt to clear his name, the 32-year-old singer shared the alleged messages on Instagram, which appeared to suggest their sexual encounter was consensual.

In the screengrabs, the alleged victim apparently texted to tell Brown she was "missing" him following their night together on a yacht in Miami back in 2020, with a fling then continuing for months.

Meanwhile in the voicemail allegedly sent from the woman, a female voice could be heard saying: "I just want to see you again ... just let me know. If you want me to leave you alone, I will."

It was back in January the unidentified woman came forward with the shocking claims. She filed a lawsuit with the Los Angeles County Court accusing Brown of sexual assault, battery, rape, violation of the gender violence statute and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She is seeking US$20 million (approx. $27 million) in damages from the singer.

After Brown released the texts and voicemail, the accuser's lawyer swiftly dropped her as a client. According to TMZ, the lawyer said she was not made aware of the messages by her client and therefore would be "withdrawing from the case". 

Now, Brown has stated his intention to countersue, writing on Instagram Stories that he and his team are "taking legal action on this situation".
