Stephen Hawking: Kaley Cuoco, Katy Perry, and more react to scientist's death
Professor Stephen Hawking has died aged 76.
The theoretical physicist and author of A Brief History in Time passed away peacefully at his home in Cambridge, England, on Wednesday morning, according to his three children Lucy, Robert, and Tim.
Thousands have flooded social media to pay tribute to the genius, including actress Kaley Cuoco -- who met Hawking when he guest starred on her show The Big Bang Theory.

"It was truly such an honor getting to work with the incredible Stephen Hawking," she captioned a photograph of herself, with Hawking and her co-stars. "He made us laugh and we made him laugh. His life and career workings have been many a subject matter on [The Big Bang Theory] and we are all better for it."
Singer Katy Perry wrote on Twitter, "There's a big black hole in my heart hours before Pi day. Rest In Peace."
Taking to Twitter, actress Zoe Saldana tweeted, "Farewell to a brilliant mind. Thank you for being so generous with your knowledge in the brief time you were with us."
Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said Hawking’s death "has left an intellectual vacuum in his wake".
Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin also shared his sadness online.
"I just heard about Stephen Hawking's passing," he tweeted. "He was both a genius and my favorite Simpsons character. We'll miss you, buddy."
The West Wing star Marlee Matlin wrote: "Physical barriers could not prevent his mind and spirit from soaring beyond the stars."
