Carrie Bickmore shows off what she really wears under The Project desk: 'Glamour upstairs, casual downstairs'

It's a party up top, comfort down below for Carrie Bickmore. Well, at least for this amusing little stunt on The Project.

The 35-year-old proudly revealed she wears active wear under the desk, flashing her leggings and runners on the desk during last night's show. W-w-what?!

"I have my active wear on right now," she confessed, kicking her trainers in the air. "Glamour upstairs, casual downstairs. I'd like us to appreciate my flexibility…my dancing days."

Now we're not totally convinced this is Carrie's on-air get-up every day. The panel were actually discussing a news story about a US man who wrote a cranky letter to his local newspaper slamming yoga pants as "stinky, tacky and ridiculous looking".

Alan Sorrentino, 63, moaned that it's "bizarre and disturbing" to see "mature, adult women" wearing them in public.

Learning that you NEVER mess with the International Federation of Yoga Pant-Wearing Women (we just made that name up, #sorrynotsorry), the man's complaint backfired spectacularly.

Around 300 women marched through his neighbourhood on Sunday in the Peaceful Yoga Pants Parade. We didn't make that name up – promise.
