Yesterday, Spears confirmed that she is writing a memoir. The book deal is reportedly worth US$15 million (approx. $20 million), which makes it one of the largest of all time.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, she wrote, "Well I'm writing a book at the moment and it's actually healing and therapeutic... it's also hard bringing up past events in my life."

"I've never been able to express openly!!! I can only imagine that I do sound childish but I was extremely young with those events took place ... and addressing it now ... I'm sure it seems irrelevant to most and I'm completely aware of that !!!"

Spears herself has been the subject of memoirs written by her mother, Lynne Spears, and younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and says she has the right to tell her side of the story with an "intellectual approach."

"My mum and sister also did the 'intellectual approach' in indulgence by writing their own books as I couldn't even get a cup of coffee or drive my car or really anything !!!" she said in the post, referencing her strict 13-year conservatorship that ended last November.

"I'm not the type of person to bring up UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS well because it's just NOT RESPECTFUL ... but come on LET'S ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT IT !!!" she wrote.

Spears then spoke about her sister's memoir, claiming her name was mentioned in it over 200 times.

The memoir in question has been the subject of much contention between the sisters, with Spears sending her younger sister a cease and desist regarding the release of the "ill-timed book" and its "misleading or outrageous claims" about Spears.

The duo have also been publicly feuding regarding the memoir and its contents.
