Brad Pitt slammed reports he 'hired a ghostwriter' to help craft his award show speeches

Brad Pitt has addressed reports he hired a speechwriter to help with his most recent awards show speeches.

"I definitely write them, I have some friends who help with the laughs but it's got to come from the heart," Pitt said in the Oscars press room.

"Historically, I've always been really tentative about speeches — they make me nervous — so this round I thought I'd put some real work into it and get comfortable so I put some effort into that."

Pitt added: "Right now, I think it's time to disappear for a while and go back to making things."

This year, Pitt has picked up trophies at The Golden Globes, the BAFTAs and the SAG awards for his performance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Yet all anyone has talked about are the impressive speeches he's been giving while taking home countless Best Actor awards.

According to Vulture, Pitt enlisted the help of a speech-writing agency to help craft his speeches.

The agency requested to remain anonymous, but admitted to being contacted by Pitt's representatives to assist with speech-writing.

At the Golden Globes, his speech made headlines when he referenced Leonardo Dicaprio's scene in Titanic.

"I would have shared the raft with you," Pitt joked, referring to the scene where DiCaprio's character Jack dies after not fitting on the raft with Kate Winslet's character Rose.

Meanwhile, at the SAG awards, he said he'd be adding this achievement to his "Tinder Profile."

Pitt proceeded to thank his female costars' feet: "Margot Robbie, Margot Robbie's feet, Margaret Qualley's feet, Dakota Fanning's feet."

"Seriously, Quentin has separated more women from their shoes than the TSA," he added, leaving his co-stars in hysterics.

Pitt's speech at the BAFTAs — which was delivered by his co-star Margot Robbie — was also praised for its quick wit and hilarious jabs about Brexit and the royals.
