How the Irwins will honour Steve at Bindi and Chandler's wedding

Bindi Irwin has decided to include a touching tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, at her wedding later this year.

The wedding to her fiancé Chandler Powell will be held at Australia Zoo, and Bindi's mother Terri Irwin revealed just how they'll make sure Steve is involved.

"We want to acknowledge Steve by all of us lighting this candle for him," she told the Courier Mail. "I guess in some ways it's not necessary because Steve will be there anyway. I believe the people we love always are."

She also shared that Bindi's brother, Robert Irwin, will be walking her down the aisle in Steve's place.

Bindi also spoke about her wedding with New Idea, joking about how they'll have to incorporate crocodiles into the event. "We all keep joking that our first thing as man and wife will be feeding the crocodiles," she said. She's also previously mentioned she might walk down the aisle with a koala.

Over the weekend, Bindi shared a touching post celebrating her mum in honour of International Women's Day. "The most incredible woman I've ever known,' Bindi wrote about Terri on Instagram. 

"She leads a team of over 500 wonderful staff here Australia Zoo, who I'm proud to say are 70% female. She continues Dad's mission of Wildlife Warriors global conservation work, keeping his legacy alive."

Terri told the Courier Mail that she knows Steve is always with them. "If you are missing someone, I think it's helpful to know that scientifically you can't actually create or extinguish life, you can only change its form."

"So if you are grieving someone you loved very much, look to science and just remember when you boil the kettle and steam comes out, it doesn't mean the water has gone."
