Ariana Grande unveils misspelled Japanese tattoo

Another day, another celebrity tattoo gone wrong.

Ariana Grande is the latest star to proudly unveil fresh ink only to have fans point out it doesn't say quite what she wanted it to.

Debuting her brand new hand palm tattoo on Instagram (yes, that's a real spot people get tattooed), the 25-year-old excitedly showed off the design which was supposed to say '7 Rings!.' The tattoo was meant to correlate with her latest hit song of the same name, which she has already been forced to apologise for after fans called her out for ripping it from other artists.

Minutes after posting a pic of the Japanese characters, the post was flooded with fans letting her know that it was misspelled and actually reads as "shichirin" -- which means small Japanese barbecue grill.

Naturally, Twitter went into meltdown.

"Ariana Grande's new tattoo '七輪' means Japanese style bbq grill, not 7 rings. If you want to know about 七輪, just google 'SHICHIRIN,'" wrote another alongside a pic of the failed tattoo and a Japanese BBQ.

"Imagine getting bbq grill tattooed on your palm," tweeted one fan.

"If @ArianaGrande can werk a tattoo that says bbq grill in Japanese, I can get that tattoo of a hot dog pulling a kickflip that I've always wanted. Girls out here inspiring a whole generation," tweeted another.

In a since-deleted response after reality dawned on her, the 'Thank U, Next' singer wrote, "Indeed, I left out 'つの指' which should have gone in between. It hurt like    f--- n still looks tight. I wouldn't have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won't last so if I miss it enough I'll suffer thru the whole thing next time."

While she's been able to delete the photo from her feed, deleting the actually tattoo won't be so easy.
