Angelina Jolie's 'tyres explode' in near-devastating car accident after <I>Unbroken</I> screening

Angelina Jolie should be counting her lucky stars right about now.

According to X17 Online, the 39-year-old actress has been involved in a near-devastating car crash on her way home from an Unbroken screening in LA.

With her driver reportedly speeding off from the Writers' Guild Theater, sources say the car skidded in the rain, crashing into a nearby curb minutes later. Because of the impact, two of the hire car's tyres also exploded.

"The car slammed into the curb at a significant speed," an eyewitness told the site. "Angelina must have wondered if they had hit another car.

"It was pretty bad - the tires exploded and it's amazing that nothing worse happened to the car. I wouldn't be surprised if she had whiplash though."

It's reported that Ange was picked up by another driver in a second hire car soon after.
