Andrew Garfield admits he lied to ex Emma Stone about cameo on Spider-Man: No Way Home
Emma Stone was apparently not happy when her ex Andrew Garfield failed to tell her about his surprise appearance on the new film, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield and Stone respectively played Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man films and also dated in real life, so Stone was not happy being kept in the dark.
Garfield opened up about his surprise appearance in the latest offering alongside fellow OG star Tobey Maguire and current star Tom Holland when he was interviewed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast — a cameo he never told Stone about.

"Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?' " Garfield revealed to host Josh Horowitz. "And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'
"She was like, 'Shut up. Just tell me.' I'm like, 'I honestly don't know' — I kept it going, even with her," he laughed. "And then she saw [the movie]. She was like, 'You're a jerk.'"

The couple dated first met on the set of the 2012 superhero movie. But after dating for nearly four years, they split in 2015 shortly after their film's sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, was released. However, they have managed to remain good friends.
"We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing," Garfield previously said on Vanity Fair's Little Gold Men podcast. "There's so much love between us and so much respect."
