EXCLUSIVE: Kendall Jenner is trying to distance herself from 'fangirl' mum Kris

She was the belle of Cannes, cosying up to Karl Lagerfeld, owning the red carpet in a wardrobe-spin of couture and partying with the crème de la crème of celebrity.

But there's one thing cramping Kendall Jenner's style…her mum, Kris.

TheFIX has learnt that Kris is just a little overexcited about her daughter's full transformation from reality TV star to big time fash model.

Our insider says that the "clingy" matriarch keeps trying to get in on the action, bombarding Kendall with calls and requests to be her plus one to flashy events.

"Kendall has all of these sophisticated friends now, and she is running with a totally different crowd, who think the Kardashians are kind of cheesy," says a source. "Kris seems to try to be riding Kendall’s coattails in a way.

"She calls her constantly and tells her she wants to fly to Cannes or wherever Kendall is, and Kris has been complaining that sometimes she doesn’t return calls for days. Who wants your mother hanging out with you when you are walking a red carpet?"
