Gwen Stefani puts on emotional performance of new heartbreak single 'Used To Love You'

Amy Nelmes Bissett

Gwen Stefani has remained remarkably tight lipped since she called quits on her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale back in August over infidelity claims.

But during a gig in New York over the weekend, she finally gave us a glimpse of what really went down between the two as she performed her new single 'Used To Love You' for the first time.

Looking teary, she tells the crowd that the song is "very special". And well, if the lyrics are anything to go by, we'd say highly emotional.

Gwen belted out: "I don't know why I cried, but I think it's because I remembered for the first time since I hates you, that I used to love you."

And then: "Suitcase, Bandaids, pulling back out the driveway. You can keep all the memories.

"I thought I was the best thing that ever happened to you. I thought you loved me more."

The 47-year-old filed for divorce earlier this year, with sources soon stating that Gavin had grown close to a man he was once romantically linked to.

Since then, the pair haven't spoken about their split or the reasons behind it and have not been pictured together. Sounds messy.

But they did state in their joint statement released when the divorce was filed, that they will continue to co-parent nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma, and Apollo, 19 months.
